Dr Round's retirement

The Parish Council today gave a letter of thanks to local GP Dr Keith Round who is retiring this week. The letter thanked him for all his hard work for the community in Grampound with Creed over the past 36 years and was presented outside the Grampound Surgery in Mill Lane.

In the picture are Peter Wootton, Roger Paynter, Dr Keith Round, Alice James, Norman Baines, Terry Tyler, Dean Jenkins.

Garlenick Wind Turbines update June 2014

Garlenick wind turbines access road.

The construction team at the site of the Garlenick Wind Turbines have started work laying out the access road and undertaking ground work. I joined Councillor Bob Egerton on 4th June for a tour of the site which has many months of work ahead before the wind turbines will be erected. You may have noticed the access road that is being built in the field and the picture shows a closer view from near the entrance looking north.

Grampound Community Fund panel advises on £50K fund

The members of the Grampound Community Fund panel met yesterday to reach a decision on the applicants for the 'one-off' £50K fund.

It decided to advise Grantscape to award £25K to the community hall for the car park and £25K to Creed church for a heating system. The minutes of the public meeting are available on the Community Fund's website.

Polling was open in Grampound from 07:00 to 22:00 hrs on 22nd May 2014 for the European Elections. The turnout was about 35% - same as the national average for this election.

Truro & Roseland Community Network Panel 20th May 2014

A meeting of the Truro & Roseland Community Network Panel was held on 20th May in the New County Hall and the agenda was dominated by the health and social care services in Cornwall. There was also an introduction to a new European funding initiative.

Public Meeting - "Sports Pavillion"

A Public Meeting has been announced in the Village Hall to discuss the Football Club proposal to build a Sports Pavillion on the recreation ground.

Tuesday 27th May 19:30 at the Village Hall

This meeting is open to anyone to discuss this proposal with the trustees of The Village Hall and the chairman of the Football Club.
