Surface water runoff (from Wikipedia)

Do you know of any instances of flooding where water is running off the surface of land and causing (or potentially causing) damage to neighbouring properties?

This DEFRA scheme provides money that needs to be applied for by September. It would allow the landowner to pay for works to reduce flooding.

Contact the Parish Council if you feel you know of where an application could be made in Grampound with Creed.

Council and Voluntary Community Sector Summit 13th May 2014

There was a Town and Parish Council and Voluntary Community Sector Summit on 13th May 2014 at New County Hall in Truro. I attended on behalf of Grampound with Creed Parish Council. It was opened by Jeremy Rowe, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Localism and Devolution.

Andrew Kerr, Chief Executive of Cornwall Council outlined three key changes that could improve the delivery of services:

Planning approved for Grampound Village Store

Village store planning approval map

The planning application for the temporary siting of portable buildings for Grampound Village Store and Coffee Shop in the recreation ground has been approved by Cornwall Council.

This is great news for the Village Store team. They have already set up a new fund-raising gauge near the town hall to show their progress.

Mill Lane footpath - site visit 7th May 2014

Location of Mill Lane footpath closure

A visit was arranged for Cornwall Council officers to visit the site of the closed end of the Mill Lane Footpath (number 11). Details of the current closure order have been posted previously. The photograph above shows the location. Water damage has washed away the path to bedrock.

Response from CORMAC on the eco bus shelter colour

Traffic Speed Survey April 2013

There was a traffic survey undertaken in Grampound in April by CORMAC using a covert radar device fitted to a lamp post in Fore Street.

Councillor Bob Egerton highlighted the report at the recent council meeting. The report RadarClass A390 Grampound Site 2 April 2013 is available on the Parish Council website.
