Majority of traffic entering and leaving Grampound exceed 30 MPH speed limit

The results of two speed surveys conducted by CORMAC are now available for Grampound.

The first study is at the western (Fal river) end of Grampound on the A390 which shows the majority of cars exceeding the speed limit as they (presumably) slow in to the village but the vast majority exceeding the limit as they accelerate out.

A further study in the centre of the village shows better compliance with the speed limit (comparable to the 2013 survey).

Highways have offered to commission a further study between these two points but there is still some community anxiety about the entrance speeds of traffic at the eastern end of the village which has a steeper hill with a sudden 60 to 30 MPH speed restriction and a narrower road.
